Board Meetings & Public Participation

The Governing Board of the Cuyama Joint Unified School District welcomes community members to attend Board meetings and participate in the decision-making process. Board meetings are conducted in accordance with the Ralph M. Brown Act to ensure that the public’s business is conducted openly and transparently.

Regular meetings of the Governing Board are open to the public unless otherwise authorized by law.

Public Comment

Members of the public are encouraged to address the Governing Board on any item within the Board’s jurisdiction.

Public comments may be made:

  • During the general public comment period on matters not listed on the agenda.
  • During consideration of individual agenda items before Board action.

Speaker Request Cards

Speaker request cards are available to help the Board President organize public comments.

Completion of a speaker card is voluntary.

Members of the public are not required to provide their name, address, or any other personal identifying information in order to speak during a public meeting.

Individuals may simply approach the podium when recognized by the Board President.

Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)

Individuals requiring disability-related accommodations or translation services should contact the Superintendent’s Office at least 48 hours prior to the meeting whenever possible.

Public Participation

Meetings of the Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee are open to the public.

Members of the public are welcome to attend and may address the Committee on matters within its jurisdiction.

Speaker request cards, if provided, are voluntary. Individuals are not required to provide their name, address, or other identifying information in order to address the Committee.
